Jabiru Back On
The Sun Herald
Sunday January 9, 1994
BHP Petroleum Ltd's Jabiru oil and gas field in the Timor Sea is to resume production today after a 104-day shut-down.
Production from the field was suspended in early October so the project's floating production vessel, the Jabiru Venture, could undergo scheduled maintenance and modifications in Singapore.
BHP said the vessel arrived back on site last week. It was reconnected last Monday.
The company operates the converted oil tanker on behalf of the seven joint venturers.
BHP has 50 per cent, Cultus Petroleum (Aust) NL 18.75pc, Norcen Int'l Ltd 12.5pc, Santos Ltd 10.31pc, Ampolex Ltd 6.25pc and Brenda Mines Ltd 1.09pc with others holding the balance.
